1. Liquids. Drinking water during a heat wave is priority numero uno for me. But then there are the times I just need a good ‘ol iced drink. My picks: iced coffee, lemonade (lately I’ve been buying Trader Joe’s light lemonade), Starbucks Refreshers (cool lime) or Frappuccinos (caramel or mocha light):
2. Ice Cream. Nothing tastes better than cool, rich ice cream — PARTICULARLY on a swelteringly hot day. Gelato, froyo, soft serve, custard (I think I got all my ice cream formats covered here, eh?) — you name it. I rounded up my 6 favorite New York ice cream spots back in early July. And lately I’ve been pretty impartial to the soft serve fruit from Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit Co.:
3. Sundresses only policy. I wore nothing but dresses this week. Pants would’ve been cruel and unusual punishment. Sundresses are the way to go when the temps hit 95, and there’s no convincing me otherwise (left to right: floral dress, mint green dress, sweetheart eyelet dress):
4. Indoor workouts. Because running outside in the heat is just plain CRAZY! I’ve put a hiatus on my outdoor runs for now, and replaced them with yoga — in AC. Yes.

5. Thinking cool thoughts. Wait… just kidding!
